What Happens During a Neuter Surgery

A neuter surgery removes a male dog’s testicles. This stops him from being able to reproduce and lowers testosterone-driven behaviors like marking, roaming, and mounting. It also lowers his risk of certain cancers and prostate problems later in life.

Your dog will be under general anesthesia for the full procedure. Our team monitors him the entire time to keep him safe and comfortable.

What's Included With Every Neuter

Optional Add-Ons

These add-ons are only available alongside a scheduled surgery — not as stand-alone services.

Eligibility

Not every dog qualifies for our low-cost model. Full eligibility details are on our Services page — in short, your dog must be healthy, under 3 years old, and not a brachycephalic (flat-faced) breed.

If you’re not sure your dog qualifies, reach out before scheduling.

After Surgery

Most dogs go home the same day and recover well within 10–14 days. We’ll send you home with clear aftercare instructions, including activity restrictions and signs to watch for. See our Aftercare Instructions page for full details.
