Visit Mermaid SANDS
An estimated 23 MILLION pets were adopted in just the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this same time frame, there was a net addition of only 500 veterinarians to the labor pool. That’s 46,000 new pets per new veterinarian!
Mermaid SANDS was conceived with the express purpose of relieving the strains on these new pet owners, full service veterinarians and animal shelters by creating a streamlined process for providing wellness and preventive medicine. The veterinary shortage and pet influx has impacted our community locally by resulting in reduced services available to the public from perennial non-profit organizations.
